The USDA released a new plant hardiness zone map this year for the United States! In my last post about zones, I was an 8A, but now with the updated zone data, collected over 30 years and from 8,000 stations, it has changed! I am now an 8B. The data was collected from 1976 through 2005. The data has been processed with GIS, and so the detail is amazing to be able to see the microclimates around us, like the cities being warmer (due to the concrete and asphalt).
